Harold L. Finch lived an unequaled life filled with lasting achievements. But what made him great was what he was like in private.
Sincere. Humble. Childlike Heart.
Family:

“Dad possessed a childlike heart. His happiest moments were spent down on the floor with little kids, making them laugh with his playfulness. He truly would have rather entertained a five-year-old than to have spent time with anyone his own age! His grandkids have especially joyful remembrances of Pony Boy, Pony Girl, the Blue-Eyed Man, and Robert the Bobcat, which were each part of the stable of Dad’s fun imaginary friends.” – Greg Finch

Harold Finch was married to Peggy for 67 years at his passing. Despite his busy schedule, he always put family first and was an absolute fixture at their events. It sounds impossible but he only rarely missed any of his kids’ or grandkids’ ballgames, tournaments, or recitals – and he never missed a birth, graduation, wedding, or other significant life event. At holiday gatherings or parties, he was the first one into the kitchen to help with the cleanup effort. The truth is, he was driven to leave everything he did in life better than he found it. He signed personalized cards to family members that included fun little drawings that always brought smiles to his family’s faces. He was the family’s patriarch, role model, best friend, prayer warrior, and giver of solid advice. Scroll down to see the kinds of images that captured his truest self.
